Action from Quebec City - February 29

Cross Country Skiing

It was a brutally cold morning out at Mount Saint Anne but that did not slow down our skiers. Daniel and Patricia both competed today and they were very pleased with their results.

Patricia bettered her personal best time in the 100m again today and won a gold medal. Daniel beat his personal best in the 1km and is waiting for final divisioning information before his placing is finalized.

The drive out to the cross country course takes about 50min and it allows you to take in some absolutely beautiful scenery. Once at the course you are one of the top cross country skiing venues in the world. There is no doubt the skiers had the longest but most beautiful drive of all of our sports.

Team NL had another great day at the floor hockey venue. Although they had one loss today the team is continuing to develop and gel as a unit. Their first game of the day saw many of their defensive players try a hand up front. A number of players scored their first National Games goals and was a great moment for coaches, spectators and athletes alike to watch their and the team mates celebrations.
